The Al Andalus Train

Al Andalus Train, a luxurious palace on rails, with a mark of excellence in elegance, comfort, service, and gastronomy.

A train with history. It was built in 1929 for the British monarchy, with the purpose of traveling during their summer holidays from Calais (Northern France) to the French Riviera. However, after a decade, in 1939, it was acquired by Spanish Railways, and in 1941 it finally passed to RENFE, to operate long-distance routes across Spain.

In 1982, this wonderful train was created under the name Al Andalus Expreso, marking an entire era. A significant investment was made to restore all its exteriors and primarily its interiors. Every detail of its decoration in the “Belle Époque” style was meticulously attended to, with the legendary “Orient Express” serving as a model. In 1983, it made its first journey through Andalusia. Today, it is considered one of the most luxurious trains in the world.

We are the official commercial distributors of El Transcantabrico Gran Lujo, Costa Verde Express, Al Andalus Train, El Expreso de La Robla and other luxury and charming trains from around the world.

IMPORTANT NOTE: due to the increasing demand for the Al Andalus train expected for the 2025 departures and being a very exclusive train with very limited availability (64 passengers per departure), we recommend if you are interested to make your reservations well in advance.

Andalusian Route

The Al Andalus train travels through emblematic cities and places of Andalusia in the south of Spain. The so-called “Andalusian Route” starts in Seville and continues through Jerez, Cádiz, Ronda, Cordoba, Úbeda, Baeza, Granada, and Malaga; it can also be done in reverse, with departures from Malaga. It is worth noting that some of the cities it passes through have been declared UNESCO World Heritage Sites.

For 7 days, you can enjoy a journey on an authentic palace on rails, with spectacular landscapes, visits and excursions to places that have marked the history of Spain. A cultural trip, also, with excellent service onboard. Each day you wake up in a different place, without the need to pack and unpack your luggage. That is the comfort of traveling on this train.
